Childminding
First of all, you have to be a loving and responsible childminder.
Your hostparents put their children in your care, trust and rely on you to look after them to the best of your ability.
Some of your possible duties: occupy the children in an interesting and creative way, read books to them, take them for a walk, take them to bed, change nappies, prepare simple meals, take them to the kindergarten etc..
Your exact duties vary, depending on the age of the children.
Light household duties
You should try to keep especially the children's rooms neat and clean.
Your household duties will be related with the well-being of the children: keep the rooms clean (tidy up and hoover), in which the children sleep and play. Clean the kitchen after using it (e.g. while preparing meals for the children or you). Go shopping for the daily needs, wash and iron the childrens’ clothes etc.
Working hours
Your working hours are limited to 30 hours per week (max. 6 hours per day). Your hostfamily will set up a weekly timetable with you. Nevertheless, there may occurr alterations. So please be flexible and understanding. Your hostfamily will appreciate it and will also accommodate your needs and wishes, if possible.
