Duties - Au pair in Germany

Your duties:

1) First of all, you have to be a loving and responsible childminder.
Your hostparents are putting their children in your care, trusting and relying on you to look after them to the best of your ability. Some of your possible duties:
• occupying the children in an interesting and creative way, reading books to them, taking them for a walk, taking them to bed, changing nappies, preparing simple meals, taking them to the kindergarten etc..
Your exact duties vary, depending on the age of the children.
2) Light housework
You should always look that the house and especially the children's rooms are neat and clean. Don't wait to be asked for it!
These can be your typical duties:
• hoovering, tidying up the children's rooms, going shopping, cleaning the dishes, handling the washing machine, ironing etc..

Your working hours are 30 hours per week.
Your hostfamily will set up a weekly timetable with you. Nevertheless, there may occurr alterations. So please be flexible and understanding. Your hostfamily will appreciate it and will also accommodate your needs and wishes, if possible.
